• Call for Speakers

We are keen to find new, diverse voices to join our speaker line-up and we’d like to encourage anyone from an under-represented community working in game development to submit a proposal for a talk. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never spoken before, we can provide support and an experienced mentor to help you prepare your presentation and guide you through the process. All you need is a good idea!

• Free and reduced-rate passes

We understand that not everyone can afford a full price conference pass, so we offer the following:

- Free Expo Pass which includes entry to the Indie Bootcamp sessions on Weds and Thurs, plus the Roundtable discussion groups across all 3 days.

- Micro Indie Pass for start-ups or development studios with 4 or less employees – starting at just £100 if you book early before the Super Early Bird deadline.

- Student Pass for anyone on a games course looking to get into the industry – also starting at £100 for the Super Early Bird Rate.

• Parent Accessibility

We understand that being a game maker and a parent are not mutually exclusive, so we want to make sure that Develop:Brighton is accessible to parents. Babies and children under school age (4 or below) are welcome to accompany their parents to the event. 

• Free Creche

We also offer a free creche for conference delegates run by Nipperbout for 2 - 10 year olds across the 3 days.

• Under 18’s

Develop:Brighton is a business-to-business event and is not generally open to anyone under 18. If you wish to contact the Organisers regarding this, please email [email protected]

• Pronouns on Badges

When registering for a Conference or Expo Only Pass you will have the opportunity to select your preferred pronouns, which will appear on your badge should you choose.      

• Remote Access to all Conference Sessions

The Develop:Brighton conference programme will be live streamed and accessible via our Digital Pass, so if you are unable to attend in person or feel uncomfortable attending then you won’t miss out on any of the talks.

• BAME in Games (BiG)

We are working closely with the advocacy group BAME in Games who are dedicated to improving ethnic diversity and encouraging under-represented groupd to work within the games and broader entertainment industry.

We are working with POC in Play, an independent organisation creating a range of initiatives and programme of events designed to increase the visibility and representation of People of Colour in the video games industry.

We are also working closely with Women in Games who's mission it is to build a fair, equal and safe environment empowering girls and women in the global gaming ecosystem.
